Have you ever wondered what all those little symbols on a tag inside clothing mean? They seem like nonsensical jibberish! Now, if you read the writing on the tag above or below said symbols, it often (but not always) says key phrases like “Machine Wash Cold,” “Do Not Bleach,” “Tumble Dry Low Heat,” “Do Not Iron,” and “Do Not Dry Clean.” This basically translates what each of those little symbols mean. But what if you own a garment that doesn’t have this writing (it just isn’t present, it has faded, or it was cut off) or what if the writing is written only in another language (I once had a shirt from Germany that did not have care directions in English). Or what if you just want to know how to care for a garment by quickly glancing at the symbols?
Whatever the reason you might have for desiring to decipher laundry care symbols, here’s a free printable chart with them on it. This chart contains all the common symbols used in the United States. Some of the symbols you will probably never need to use and others you may never come across. This free printable laundry care symbols chart is great to print out to store in your Home Management Notebook (click this link to find a whole slew of free printables for your home) or to hang on the wall in your laundry room (you could even pretty it up by framing it if you’d like, thereby making it part of the decor).

Thank you, this is a really helpful sign and doesn’t look too feminine to attach to my washer.
