Have you ever noticed–especially as you approach the mid 20’s to early 30’s age range and beyond–that your eyes are kinda, well, tired looking? They can get dark circle beneath them from being tired {think up all night with a forever hungry baby or a sick child}. Or they can wee little wrinkles beside them {the dreaded crow’s foot} from simply smiling or laughing. It’s so annoying!
Fortunately, there are creams that tighten the skin and alleviate these issues. But, alas, SO many of them are either chemical laden or too expensive at the moment. Enter: this DIY coffee eye cream recipe.
DIY Coffee Eye Cream
This coffee eye cream recipe uses only seven simple ingredients. Here they are and why I chose them:
- Coconut oil. Because coconut oil all the things. Adds body plus does great at wrinkle busting and moisturizing.
- Coffee beans. Coffee tightens skins, therefore banishing wrinkles!
- Cocoa butter. Cocoa butter improves overall skin tone and makes skin more elastic.
- Sweet almond oil. Smooths and rejuvenates skin.
- Vitamin E oil. Further moisturizes plus helps the cream to last a little longer.
- Elemi essential oil. Elemi essential oil tightens skin.
- Carrot seed essential oil. Improves eye sight {because…carrots}!
TIP: This recipe calls for coffee-infused oil which you need to strain to remove the coffee grounds. To make this a super easy task, here’s what I do. I put a coffee filter in a wide-mouth mason jar, fold the top around the edges of the jar, then screw on the ring to hold it into place. This make it super easy to strain and super easy to measure the correct amount for the recipe!
Coffee Eye Cream
Ingredients
- 3/4 c. pure cold-pressed coconut oil
- 2 tbsp. ground organic coffee beans
- 1/4 c. cocoa butter, chopped into small pieces
- 2 tbsp. almond oil
- 1/2 tsp. vitamin E oil
- 10 drops Elemi essential oil
- 10 drops Carrot Seed essential oil
Instructions
- Mix the coconut oil and coffee grounds together in a small, non-reactive {glass or stainless steel} saucepan. Heat, stirring often, over medium-low heat for 1 hour or more. Remove from the heat and strain through a coffee filter, discarding the coffee grounds {great for compost}. Measure 1/2 cup worth of the coffee-infused oil to use for this recipe {do with the remainder as you wish}.
- Rinse and dry the small saucepan.
- Return the 1/2 cup of coffee infused oil to the saucepan. Turn the heat to medium-low and stir the cocoa butter into the coffee infused coconut oil until melted. Remove from the heat.
- Add the almond oil, vitamin E oil, and essential oils. Cover and allow to completely cool and firm up.
- Once cool, whip for about 5 minutes with an electric hand-held mixer or until the mixture is light, fluffy, and looks kinda like frosting.
- Transfer to an airtight glass jar.
- To use, apply to the clean skin under and beside the eyes, exercising extreme caution not to get it in your eyes. If you do get it in your eye, wash it out using olive oil {water will make it worse}.
- For optimal storage time, keep stored in the fridge {especially in hotter or more humid climates}.

Sounds easy enough to make thanks to your amazing tips. I will definitely try this one. The past few yrs I’ve gone as homemade as possible. I use most of your recommended products in my homemade face/body cleaners & moisturizers even toothpaste.
Thanks Deb
