Ah, weddings (and yes–that’s my bridal butt in the picture above)! I personally love and adore weddings and, honestly, if my kiddos weren’t so little, I’d really enjoy being a professional wedding planner! As fall, well, falls upon us, many brides are holding festive weddings with cool autumn colors. Today’s guest post writer Paige, offers some helpful suggestions for these lovely autumn brides.
Fall Weddings: Ideas That Dazzle
An autumn wedding brings with it great potential for uniquely beautiful decorations and elegant touches to awe your guests. In many areas of the country, the weather is still warm enough to have parts of the ceremony and reception outdoors. From colors to fixtures to lighting to décor, fall weddings offer a beautiful platform for you and your guests.
Outdoor water fountains can add a touch of class to any wedding or reception. The beautiful sound of flowing water adds an elegant touch to any space, and the architecture of a fountain is eye-pleasing as well. Many different types of fountains are available to fit a variety of design aesthetics. If you are having a wedding in a backyard at home, consider building or installing an outdoor water fountain. They are easy to install and offer beauty and elegance long after your special day.
Fall is not just for pumpkins anymore. Autumn plants can be a welcome substitution for spring or summer styled flowers. Think dark, rich colors and unique bouquets. Some brides even choose succulents or green plants to add a surprising and elegant touch to her and her bridesmaids’ bouquets. You can also experiment with richly colored leaves, and autumn-inspired table decorations.
For bridesmaids gifts, dark, richly colored pashminas are lovely. Pashminas are available in any color and pattern imaginable and are available at a variety of prices depending on the level of quality. Choose pashminas for your bridesmaids in alternating colors for wearing during the ceremony or during the reception – or both. Your bridesmaids will be grateful for the added warmth if the wedding extends into the chilly evening, and they will be able to use the pashminas long after your wedding day to add class and style to any outfit.
Instead of flower boutonnières for groomsmen, experiment with leaf arrangements in autumn colors to add a touch of class and a surprise. Autumn bridal colors don’t have to be your stereotypical orange, yellow, and red. Consider adding rich colors like brown, purple, cream, or a deep green to the boutonniere arrangement – and to bride and bridesmaid bouquets as well.
Serve hot drinks at your wedding or reception to warm guests and fill them with the comfort of familiar tastes. Cinnamon apple cider, hot chocolate, designer coffee, and tea are just a few options to celebrate the season with your guests. Use the hints to add simple, elegant touches for a beautiful fall wedding, which your guests will remember for years to come!
