You have a TON of gifts to prepare for Christmas. You want them all to be beautifully wrapped and beautifully garnished. But you're the only one to do it all. How are you going to get the ribbons tied without the help of your spouse's or kid's finger? If accomplishing such a task solo illudes you, read on to learn how to tie a ribbon without the help of a finger (it's actually really easy!).
Begin with a wrapped gift (duh) and some ribbon (duh again). Stretch the ribbon across the gift like so.
Keeping the ribbon straight, flip the gift over to the back.
Switch hands to cross the ribbon.
Intersect the ribbon.
Still keeping the ribbon straight, flip the gift over so the top is up.
Tuck both ends under the original length of ribbon on the top of the gift.
Pull the ribbon tight.
Double tie the ribbon into a knot. Notice that this is where you might ordinarily need your helper's finger.
Tie several more lengths of ribbon around the center knot. (Sorry the picture's so dark…I'll hopefully be getting a better camera this Christmas).
Carefully curl each tail of ribbon with a pair of sharp scissors.
And you're done!
Have fun wrapping presents this holiday season! I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a happy new year!
